To achieve both goals we’d have to go completely nuclear which would take decades. Meanwhile the only realistic option is as you say, go back to coal powered energy and ignore all the green nonsense!

Welcome back David. All this stuff is a Cult/Religion really. What is the purpose of Cults/Religions? To control Human behaviour using Pathos. Unfortunately this stuff works, certainly on the majority of our Species and has done for millenia. This is nothing new. The CLIEmate change stuff is also about Redistribution of wealth via Taxation aka Socialism.
