Jamaica is planning to ask the United Kingdom for compensation for the Atlantic slave trade in the former British colony, a senior government official said.
The Caribbean island nation will file a petition that could seek billions of pounds in reparations, pending legal advice, Olivia Grange, Jamaica's minister of sports, youth and culture, said.

It's called having a massive chip on a certain coloured person shoulder. No other race looks for compensation for how they were treated centuries ago & all countries have suffered from slavery. It was the black African slave traders who started the Transatlantic Slave Trade by exchanging people for goods like Gin. Africa had been dealing in slaves for centuries before TST & white European were the slaves. They were never set free & worked/raped until they died.
