Remember when the BBC announced it was setting up a specialist unit to "counter disinformation" back in May, with Marianna Spring given a high profile position in it. In the immediate aftermath of the bombing of the Hospital in Gaza, several BBC journalists made definitive claims concerning Israel being responsible. But these have been questioned and there is great doubt as to which side caused the deaths - so why is BBC Verify unable to "fact check" information put out by...the BBC?
