Boris Johnson is ensuring 'Freedom Day" does not contain any Freedom

Ahead of a news conference on Monday afternoon, UK PM Johnson has urged people to be cautious.

"We must all take responsibility so we don't undo our progress, ensuring we continue to protect our NHS," he said.  He warned that Covid-19 cases, currently at about 30,000 a day, would continue to rise as society reopened.'

The "expectation" is people will continue to wear masks, socially distance and work from home!!!

Even AFTER "Freedom Day" - Government expects you masked!

People in England should still wear masks in many indoor settings even after the Covid rules are lifted, the vaccines minister has said.

Nadhim Zahawi said there would still be "an expectation" for people to wear masks in crowded spaces such as trains.

Labour said it was "irresponsible" to lift the legal requirement for masks.

Spoiler - masks do not work.

Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland choose to remain masked.

Face masks will continue to be required by law in some settings in Wales as long as Covid remained a threat. The Welsh government have said face coverings in Wales would still be mandatory on public transport and in health and social care settings. Scotland and Northern Ireland sending similar signals.

Why are the vaccinated catching the virus in record numbers?

According to data from the ZOE Covid Symptom study, new symptomatic daily infections appeared to be plateauing in the unvaccinated while they surging in the vaccinated. The trend has continued since then, with infections now entering decline in the unvaccinated while those in the vaccinated (with at least one dose) continue to surge.

Home Secretary Priti Patel keeps issuing bellicose statements about stopping the armada of illegal migration crossing the channel.  She is even introducing a new Bill in the Commons. But it's all specious nonsense unless we stop the illegal migrants getting here in the first place.
